17 apr 5 Years of Guest Stories: Brian
Five years since our opening means loads of stories to tell and meeting lots of great people. This month meet Brian, our third customer ever and he keeps on coming back each year for more, last year Brian moved from Canada to Bali, he says thanks to Joe… 🙂
1. Where are you from?
I am from Canada
2. How many dives have you done?
Over 800
3. What is your dive certification level?
Open Water with Deep Dive and Nitrox
4. How did you end up at Joe’s Gone Diving?
Long story short: I was unhappy with diving at another company and walked into Joes Gone Diving during the first week of their operation February 2011 and the rest is history.
5. When did you dive with Joe’s Gone Diving?
2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and counting!
6. What did you like about it, what was most memorable?
So many things! Where to start? I really like the casual and fun atmosphere along with the degree of professional organization. Business is business but who says you can’t have fun at the same time? The ease with which people and staff interact is just great. And while other dive shops I’ve been at have that too, there always seems to be something missing. I have not experienced that at Joes. As for ‘most memorable’, I have spent a lot of time there and done hundreds of dives with Joes so it is simply impossible for me to quantify…… It’s just a great place all around….. Oh, wait! 9 Mola Mola at Mimpang with divemaster Roland in 2012. It was just the two of us at the whole site and they swam right to us and we were in the middle of them… Incredible!
7. Favourite dive site on Bali and why?
Padang Bai/Candi Dasa. This is a collection of dive sites all in the same area. I like them because they are all different with different topographies, different geographies, different conditions but with a great comfort level and variety of life.
8. Favourite creature underwater
🙂 Nudibranch…. A dive to me isn’t complete unless I see one.
9. Already plans to dive again with Joe?
Of course! My dive gear lives at Joes waiting for me whenever I dive in Bali!
